Lewis and Clark Fund for Exploration and Field Research

January 17, 2012

The Lewis and Clark Fund for Exploration and Field Research funds “exploratory field studies for the collection of specimens and data and to provide the imaginative stimulus that accompanies direct observation. Applications are invited from disciplines with a large dependence on field studies, such as archeology, anthropology, biology, ecology, geography, geology, linguistics, paleontology, and population genetics, but grants will not be restricted to these fields.

Doctoral students are eligible to apply. The grants can be as large as around $5,000.

It looks like they prefer applications from U.S. citizens, but foreign applicants based at U.S. institutions (such as, say, UCSD) can apply.

Application deadline: February 1, 2012

Letters of support are due earlier – January 26!!!
