Fellowships to attend Geophysical Fluid Dynamics (GFD) program at Woods Hole

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution offers an annual Geophysical Fluid Dynamics program. A small group of grad students comes together for a “ten-week course of study and research…to provide a vigorous discussion of concepts that span difference disciplines…” More info is available at the website.

Program dates: June 18 to August 24, 2012

“For 2012, the lectures will be ‘Spatially Localized Structures: Theory and Applications’ delivered by Edgar Knobloch (UC Berkely), and ‘Dynamics of Coherent Structures and Their Impact on Transport and Predictability’ delivered by Jeffrey B. Weiss (Cu Boulder).”

Woods Hole will grant up to 10 fellowships to attend the program. Winners will get a travel allowance plus a $5,500 stipend.
