Social Scientists – Post-doc Position at UC Santa Barbara’s Center for Nanotechnology in Society (CNS UCSB)

January 24, 2012

UC Santa Barbara’s Center for Nanotechnology is hiring 1-2 postdoctoral researchers “interested in societal aspects of emerging technologies, with a particular focus on nanotechnology. Successful candidates will contribute to one of three collaborative Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs) addressing: 1) the historical context of nanoscience and technology; 2) the effects of nanotech R&D and policy on economic development in the global economy, with regional focus on East Asia and Latin America; or 3) multiple party risk perception and public deliberation in US, Europe and Asia.”

You have to have completed your PhD by December 31, 2011, to apply. It actually looks like they’re looking for people in the social sciences. They suggest people with PhDs in fields “such as anthropology, communication, environmental studies, history of science and technology, political science, science and technology studies, social psychology, sociology, or other related discipline.”
